PROGRAM/ELIGIBILITY: Provide transitional shelter for men and women. Couples must seperate. Clients receive access to shelter, case management, food, clothing, laundry service, housing resources, and employment services. Residents must be alcohol and drug free and are subject to breathalyzer and urinalysis testing. Shelter is available 2-3 months for men and up to 11 months for women, given cooperation with the case manager and shelter rules.

Mailing addresses, phone messages, help acquiring ID, food box vouchers, access to showers and clothing room, hair cut coupons and general information are also available through the Transition Projects'
Community Service Center at the same location. Rent and Deposit assistance is available to singles and couples with no children, if the person has an income or is in subsidized housing and meets certain criteria. OVERVIEW: Operate social service programs in the
Portland area for persons who are low-income, including an early intervention program for "at-risk" parents of children ages 6 weeks to 5 years, an intensive parenting class, and adult day care sites. Also administer the Family Center -- an emergency, confidential shelter for women and children, both for homelessness and domestic violence.

EMERGENCY SHELTER SERVICES: Emergency shelter & residential services for women with children, including but not limited to victims of domestic violence. No boys over age 12. Confidential location. Support services include domestic violence information and support, transitional housing, life skills education, and a children's program.

FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES: The Family Nursery provides respite for "at-risk" parents. Children, ages 6 weeks to 5 years old, attend "class" two mornings a week from
9:00am - 12:00pm . The Nursery also offers case management services, home visits, and parent coaching.

Families Together is an intensive 20 week parenting class. Each class has a lab time for the first two hours where parents practice new skills with their children with staff coaching. A large group session is then held where the parents learn anger management, behavior management, child development, and self care/self esteem. Parents meet one-on-one with a Family Interventionist, as well.
